Collage

My uncle Heinrich was a painter.  He died in July 2005 and a year later a retrospective of his life’s work was exhibited at a gallery at his home town in Germany.  There I discovered that he also created an amazing archive of montages made from newspaper clippings and paper pieces.

The following images are collages I made from a stockpile of paper pieces I have been hoarding for decades.  An archive which is slowly taking over my entire storage space.  They are scraps and discards, things I collect on my travels, old books, things I find out on the street, stuff other people would throw away, Things that need to get out from under my bed.

The best treasures are those forgotten about and found again.
